How to get to the track
The 24hrs Inline Montreal Skaters' village is located in front of the paddocks on the Gilles-Villeneuve Formula-1 racetrack on Notre-Dame Island (map of the park, site map (PDF)). Here are directions to the track, by car, rapid transit, and on skates:
-
By car
From Montreal, take the Bonaventure highway and follow the signs for the Casino. Once onto the Concorde Bridge, continue to the end and stay right to exit onto Notre-Dame Island. Follow the signs for parking lot "P-4", which is nearest to the paddocks.
-
By rapid transit
Take the subway to the Berri-UQAM station, transferring to the yellow line (Longueuil) and getting off at the first stop (Jean-Drapeau). From there, skate to the nearby Cosmos Bridge, which takes you to Notre-Dame island and directly onto the racetrack. Follow the track till you see the paddocks. Bus 167 also serves the entire park (check www.stm.info for more information).

On skates or by bicycle
-
From Montreal
From the Lachine Canal bike-path, near the Old Port, follow the signs for the Cité du Havre and then for Notre-Dame Island.
-
From the South Shore
Cross via the locks near the Victoria Bridge, using the small bridge from the bike-path, which is for pedestrians, cyclists and skaters. This takes you onto Notre-Dame Island. Where the bike-path joins the racetrack, turn right and you'll soon be in front of the paddocks.
